Building A Better District is a taxpayer-led movement and is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, the State or Regional Board of Education, any individual school district, or administration/Board of Education. 


The community has access to statistics and information on our district's performance through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Report Card and the University of Chicago's "5 Essentials Survey".  

ISBE State Report Card

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) annual report card is a comprehensive document that provides detailed information about the performance and characteristics of Illinois public schools and school districts. This report card is a critical tool for parents, educators, policymakers, and the public to assess the state of education in Illinois and make informed decisions.

The ISBE annual report card typically includes and reports: School and District DemographicsAcademic Performance, Assessment DataSchool and District AccountabilityEducational ResourcesSchool Climate and Student EnvironmentPost-Graduation DataTeacher Qualifications,  Special Education ServicesEnglish Learners, Financial Data, and School Improvement Plans.

The ISBE annual report card serves as a critical tool for transparency and accountability in the Illinois education system. It allows stakeholders to assess the performance of schools and districts, identify areas for improvement, and make data-informed decisions to enhance educational outcomes for students across the state.

SUMMATIVE DESIGNATIONS

District 301 has historically been known for its well-performing schools.  Each year ISBE rates each individual school on a number of factors and assigns it a designation.  Here is a snapshot of the district's performance over the past 5 years -- excluding 2021 due to the pandemic.
